The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer Patrick Amuriat has appointed Wasswa Biriggwa, the party national chairperson, to head his campaign team for the 2021 General Election.
Biriggwa contested with Amuriat for the party’s flag but stepped down for the latter on the polling day last week.
Addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, yesterday, Amuriat said Biriggwa would be the director general of his campaigns.
He also named Roland Kaginda Mugume, the FDC Rukungiri Municipality MP, as the national field coordinator, and Albert Okello Oduman as the executive director of the campaign bureau.
Amuriat also said the full campaign team will be unveiled on Monday next week after the party’s approval.
He said his campaigns will be characterized by messages for Ugandans to rise up against oppression, adding that they will be guided by the party and their former presidential candidate, Dr Kizza Besigye.
At the same function, Amuriat said the party has started collecting signatures required for a presidential candidate to be nominated.
