Parents have been asked to escort their children to their respective schools to avoid being conned by criminals.

The RDC Mbarara Lt Col James Mwesigye while speaking to our reporter at his office said that criminals are now alert to rob and engage in other heinous acts as students report back tomorrow.

Mwesigye warned to arrest students who will be found meandering in town without clear explanations.

He noted that it’s a role of the parent to ensure that his or her child reaches school safely.

Meanwhile school proprietors have asked the parents to provide all the necessities required at the school to avoid inconveniences ahead of tomorrow’s re-opening of schools.

Robert Natukwasa the director Mbarara community institute said that they met the SOP’s as per ministry of health and education guidelines and that what is remaining is the role of the parents and guardians to fulfill their roles.
