I HAVE MY FARMS, I DON’T DEPEND ON STATE FUNDS, PRESIDENT MUSEVENI TELLS HIS SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS

President Yoweri Museveni has explained to Ugandans how he acquired his wealth following queries from some of his followers.

He explained in a series of posts on X yesterday, that the majority of his wealth came from his farms in Ntungamo District and Rwakitura, Nyabushozi County, in Kiruhura District.

Museveni’s response was prompted by questions from individuals like Bart Nsubuga and the UK Official People Power-National Unity Platform who were critical of the President continuing to discuss wealth creation after 40 years of allegedly depending on the national treasury.

The President said that the food items he mentioned, such as cassava, peas, millet, meat, milk, and coffee, along with the limited food consumed by First Lady Janet Museveni, could all be readily sourced from their farms at Ntungamo, Rwakitura, Kisozi, and other locations.

Responding to UK NUP, who claimed that Museveni and his National Resistance Army took cattle from Buganda, Acholi, Lango, and Teso and didn’t compensate the people, Museveni said this was a falsehood.

Responding to another follower who had claimed that NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi rallies are being stopped while concerts are allowed, despite the threat of terrorist bombs, Museveni said, the concerts are prepared, the areas cordoned off, people entering the venue go through checks, etc.

Last week, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Katsigazi Tumusiime stopped Kyagulanyi’s rallies on grounds that breached guidelines that were earlier agreed upon.
