Residents of Mabira parish in Rwanyamahembe town council Kashari south Mbarara district are filled with joy having obtained permanent water source that cost the government shs 98 million through inclusive under the Rural Growth Center Urban Water program.
The water project is being implemented by the Water and Sanitation Development Facility South Western and it will take 2 years.
Residents led by the chairperson LC1 Mabira cell William Rwanyamushanda says that they have been sharing water with animals risking them of contracting water-borne diseases.
Kakuru Peterson Rweyoreka the Mayor Rwanyamahembe town council noted that this is a big relief to over 50,000 households which are directly benefiting from the project.
In her remarks, Loydah Twinomujuni the Rubaya Sub County District lady Councilor who lobbied the project applauded the ministry of water and environment for considering Rwanyamahembe town council.
