DON’T DELAY HEALTH EMERGENCIES ON THE ROAD, MBARARA RDC WARNS SECURITY OPERATIVES

RDC MBARARA-cca4afe2

Security operatives manning covid19 road blocks have been asked as per guidance from ministry of health to give way to people with health emergencies.

This was sounded by RDC Mbarara Mbetegyerize Godfrey while responding to public outcry raised by Mbarara district Covid 19 task force members at review and planning meeting.

According to Mbarara district vice chairperson Juliet Tumwebaze Nabakoza, she has continued to receive several telephone calls from mothers that security officers are delaying them while trying to access hospitals.

However, RDC Mbetegyerize advised those security operatives to use common sense while demanding movement permits from people who are in a health emergency like pregnant mothers.

The District Health Officer Mbarara Dr Peter Ssebutinde informed the health workers and general public that regardless of challenges of covid19, continuity of essential health services must continue urging pregnant mothers to report early to health facilities.
