TWO ARRESTED IN ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY

editor
By editor

Two people have been arrested by a security team following an attempted break-in at Equity Bank branch in Soroti District in Eastern Uganda.
Police told journalists today morning that they rushed to the bank located on Main Street after getting reports of an armed robbery in the morning hours.
The two suspects in police custody are a security guard and his supervisor attached to a private security firm.
Police believe the suspects have vital information that will guide their inquiries, given that one of the two guards who were supposed to be on duty did not report for work.
The security operation was led by Maj. Moses Emeju.
Emeju declined to comment and referred reporters to the Police spokesman.
Francis Erumu, the bank manager, said that the suspected robbers did not steal money.
No statement has been issued by the Police.
