Two police officers have been killed and their guns taken after four gunmen raided a police post in Kiboga District.

According to the Wamala regional police spokesperson, ASP Rachael Kawala, the incident happened at around 7:30pm when unknown gunmen raided Naksozi police post in Kiboga district.

Kawala identified the deceased officers as Cpl Francis Nsubuga and SPC Paul Ddimba.

Kawala said the facts indicate that the officers were attacked while seated at the police post, by a gang of four armed men, dressed in civilian attire.

She said that whereas the motive of the attackers is not yet known, a team from the Fly Squad has been dispatched to identify and arrest the suspects.

This is the second incident in a space of nine days in which police officers are targeted, killed and guns taken.

In a similar incident in Mityana on December, 7, two police officers were shot dead by robbers who lured them to their killing zone and took their guns.

Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga early this week noted that they have registered four serious incidents of “senseless” attacks on security personnel in which six security personnel have been attacked by unknown assailants in the past four months.
