Police in Kikuube are holding two suspects for allegedly strangling a man to death.

The suspects are Denis Wamani 28 and Mildred Kusemererwa 23, both residents of Kiswaza village in Munteme parish, Kizirafumbi sub county.

They are accused of strangling to death Brian Kasafari, 35, a resident of the same area on Friday night at around 11:30p.m.

It is alleged that on the fateful day, the two suspects had a misunderstanding with the deceased for unknown reasons and as a result, they pounced on him and strangled him to death.

They later dumped his body a few meters from Kiswaza trading center.

Jimmy Byonabye, the Kiswaza LCI Chairperson told our reporter that area residents discovered the lifeless body of Kasafari lying by the roadside near Kiswaza trading center.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says they have arrested the two suspects to help them with investigations.

He says the suspects who are currently detained at the Kikuube Central police station will be arraigned before the court to be charged with murder once investigations are through.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been handed over to the relatives after a postmortem was conducted.
