Religious leaders in Masindi district have been warned against admitting patients to their churches who require the attention of a medical doctor.
General overseer of the Pentecostal churches of Uganda, Pastor Charles Bagonza, says some people are dying while being prayed for as they hope for miracles.
Bagonza was speaking during a training about trauma management at Kabarwana Pentecostal Church in the central division of Masindi municipality.
The training was attended by different stakeholder groups, including community development officers, caregivers, political leaders, probation officers, and religious leaders
Bagonza said it is embarrassing to find a religious leader praying for a person who requires medical attention.
Bagonza asked other religious leaders not to mislead the people but guide them where they can get assistance.
