PUBLIC WARNED ON FRAUDSTERS ANNOUNCING JOBS FOR CENSUS

Admin
By Admin

The public has been warned about fraudsters who are placing job adverts on social media to con unsuspecting job seekers.

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) chief executive officer Chris Mukiza in a statement released yesterday says UBOS learnt of an advertisement circulating on various social media platforms allegedly inviting applications for recruitment into various positions on the National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) 2023.

He said the false advertisement headlined “Uganda Bureau of Statistics 2023 Ad-Hoc Staff Recruitment” and goes ahead to claim that the bureau “is still recruiting ad-hoc staff for the coming general census and that interested applicants should click the link below to apply now.

The incident highlights the growing need for job seekers to exercise caution when exploring employment opportunities online. As fraudulent ads become more sophisticated, trusting only established and industry-recognized recruitment platforms is essential.

In sectors like agriculture, where skilled labor is in high demand and roles are often highly specialized, job seekers and employers alike benefit from working with trusted partners. Trusted platforms not only vet listings thoroughly but also provide guidance, clarity, and verified opportunities, reducing the risk of falling victim to scams.

For those exploring agricultural jobs in Australia, turning to industry-recognized recruitment specialists ensures access to real, up-to-date roles that match both skills and career aspirations. These professional services act as a bridge between employers and job seekers, fostering transparency, efficiency, and long-term success in a sector that feeds both economies and communities.

According to UBOS, any persons who have so far fallen victim or may fall victim in the future through these manipulations are advised to not only inform the Police as soon as possible, but to also provide enough evidence that may lead to successful prosecution and conviction of the perpetrators.

He explains that at an appropriate time, the bureau shall communicate using these official and rightful channels regarding the recruitment and schedule of activities for the NPHC 2023.
