DEPUTY SPEAKER TAYEBWA SLAMS GOVERNMENT OVER ADULTERED FUEL

editor
By editor

Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa has slammed the Government for failing to clamp down on adulterated fuel in the country.

Tayebwa voiced his concern during plenary yesterday during the debate on the motion for the adoption of the report of the Committee on Government Assurances and Implementation on the Government assurances to stabilise fuel prices that was tabled by Robert Ssekitoleko (Bamunanika County, NUP).

Tayebwa retorted that he can bear witness to an increasing vice of manufacturing fuel from rudimentary means which, besides wearing down cars, is likely to trigger an environmental crisis if uncurbed.

The deputy speaker revealed that he once went to one of the petrol stations, took fuel, but his car could not ignite right away.

Tayebwa explained that some people use old tyres by burning them and making fuel out of them and then they go and blend it in petrol stations.

He directed for quick government intervention to save the country from thieves.
