LEADERS SHOULD ACCOUNT TO PUBLIC ON GOVERNMENT PROJECTS-MBARARA RCC MWESIGYE

editor
By editor

Mbarara Resident City Commissioner Lt. Col James Mwesigye has rallied locals to demand accountability on Government Projects.

RCC Mwesigye urged locals to hold their leaders accountable in regards to failed government projects in the area.

Mwesigye said many government funded initiatives have not benefited the target groups because the leaders at the local levels neglected their role in monitoring the operationalization of the projects.

The RCC made the remarks while officiating at Mbarara city Budget conference yesterday, further saying that whenever the Government releases funds for any project, it’s the duty of all citizens to task their leaders on accountability for each penny.

The RCC’s reaction follows concerns by city dwellers over the delayed construction of three roads under the Uganda support to municipal infrastructure Development (USMID) programme.
