Different political players have joined various stakeholders to mourn the passing of Col Shaban Bantariza.
President Yoweri Museveni has said the fallen deputy government spokesman Col. Shaban Bantariza was a dedicated cadre who worked for Uganda’s liberation and development.
Museveni wrote on his social media pages that he received the sad news of the death of Col. Shaban Bantariza, the Deputy Government Spokesperson, a dedicated cadre who worked for Uganda’s liberation and development.
President Museveni eulogized the late Bantariza as a true cadre and one who was eloquent as he spoke for the UPDF and government.
Bantariza’s recent public activity was when he had declared interest to contest as a representative of western region on NRM’s Central Executive Committee.
The NRM secretary general Kasule Lumumba says the deceased will always be remembered as a public relations guru and a law abiding citizen.
The National Unity Platform Principal (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine also extended his sympathy to the deceased’s family and friends.
Bobi Wine said the very many unkind comments about the deceased on social media may be reflecting the growing wedge between what he termed as rulers and those who are ruled.
He added that in death, people are reminded that all of us are equal and share a common destiny as human beings, as we await God’s judgment.
While Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) also extended the prayers to the deceased family, friends and colleagues as they grapple with Bantariza’s untimely death.
