COL BANTARIZA LAID TO REST IN A SCIENTIFIC BURIAL

The Former deputy government spokesperson late Col Shaban Bantariza has been laid to rest today.

Bantariza was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kagorogoro village Rutookye town council Ruhinda North County, Mitooma District in a scientific burial with a limited number of mourners consisting of mostly family members.

President Yoweri Museveni, who was represented by Gen Kahinda Otafiire described Bantariza as a trustworthy, patient, and a hero who has never betrayed his country.

Museveni reiterated his calls to Ugandans to observe the Ministry of Health guidelines that prevent the spread of covid-19. He castigated people who have failed to adhere to the guidelines and who say there is no covid-19 in the country.

Col Bantariza died on Tuesday morning from Mulago National referral hospital where he lost the battle to COVID 19.

Col Bantariza has been hailed as a great orator who was highly spirited in debate, and a loyal NRM party cadre who fought for the liberation of Uganda.

He was laid to rest under full army officer burial ceremony with gun salutes.
