Presidential candidate Lt General Henry Tumukunde has responded to incumbent President Yoweri Museveni’s statements made against him and others.
Museveni while in Rukungiri said that he is not ready to hand over power neither to former presidential aspirant Colonel, Dr. Kiiza Besigye nor to Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) presidential flag bearer Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu and independent Tumukunde saying they are useless.
Tumukunde who seemed very unhappy with the president’s remarks dismissed claims that he failed to serve the country despite having the opportunity to do so.
He said when there were rampant terror attacks in Kampala; he came in and solved that problem wondering why the president tagged him useless.
The former spy master added that President Museveni gives an impression that they are like hired slaves supposed to serve under him forever, permanently and penitently.
According to Tumukunde, the claims were very unfortunate and not made in good spirit because the president aimed at belittling them for differing from him in thinking.
He further claimed that President Museveni is too prefectural and patronizing to other Ugandans.
