NAKASEKE-77773f16

Unidentified assailants have shot dead a trader in Kasambya village in Kito Sub County in Nakaseke district, bringing to three the number of people killed in a similar manner within a space of three days.

Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson has only identified the deceased trader as Mayengo.

Preliminary police investigations show that the assailants raided the shop where the deceased was with two others and placed them at gunpoint while demanding cash.

They opened fire-killing Mayengo while his colleagues escaped with gunshot wounds.

According to Ssemwogerere, after killing the deceased, the assailants made off with Shillings 7million and mobile phones.

The attack in Kasambya came three days after a similar attack claimed two lives at Kimaga village in Nabiswera Sub County in Nakasongola district.

The Nakasongola District Police Commander, Patience Namara, said they treated the attack as a case of aggravated robbery.

Police are yet to arrest any suspect in connection to the attacks as Ssemwogerere told Endigyito radio that they are yet to establish whether the attacks are connected.
