CHIEF JUSTICE DOLLO MEETS LEGISLATORS OVER JUDICIARY FINANCING

The Chief Justice, Alfonse Owiny – Dollo, has discussed with the legislators Judiciary’s key priorities in line with the administration of justice and the desire to take justice closer to the people.

He also used the opportunity to rally the MPs to support the Judiciary’s enhanced budget to operationalize the Administration of the Judiciary Act 2020 fully.

The Parliamentary Committee Chairperson, Jacob Oboth Oboth, said his Committee is committed to supporting Judiciary’s bid for an enhanced budget, among other things.

At the end of the engagement, the Legislators made a tour of the Appellate buildings under construction at the Judiciary headquarters in Kampala.

The Deputy Chief Justice, Richard Buteera, Principal Judge, Dr Flavian Zeija, Permanent Secretary, Pius Bigirimana, and the Chief Registrar, Sarah Langa Siu, took part in the day-long engagement.
