The former Budadiri West parliamentary candidate in Sironko district Amani Magombe, has committed suicide.
Residents found the deceased’s lifeless body dangling on an avocado tree in his compound in Bubalingaga B cell, Bubalingaga ward Buteza town council in Sironko district last evening.
Sulai Majeme, one of the residents says that they were shocked to find the deceased’s lifeless body dangling from the tree since they had not seen him the entire day.
Francis Wandeka, the area LC I chairperson, says that despite being a resident of the area, the deceased has been running a business in Busia district.
He revealed that the deceased only returned from home from Busia on Monday and they are yet to establish what could have prompted him to take his life.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, says that the deceased’s body is lying at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital pending postmortem.
