The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, has suspended the Bunyoro -Tooro regional Kadhi, Sheikh Muhammad Irumba from office citing a number of issues including causing divisions among Muslims in the region.
In the May 27th, 2021 letter, Mubaje suspended Sheikh Irumba from the office of the regional Kadhi Bunyoro- Tooro Muslim region with immediate effect.
Mubaje requested him to handover all the office equipment including the vehicle with immediate effect.
In the letter, Mubaje noted that the Muslim regional administration was established to bridge the gap between the headquarters and lower administrative structure; more especially to unite Muslims but Sheikh Irumba has failed to unite the Muslims of Bunyoro- Tooro Muslim region.
Zziwa Ashiraf, Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) spokesperson told our reporter that the Khadi has caused a lot of confusion among Muslims instead of initiating developmental programs.
