The increase of Domestic violence cases in Nyakayojo Mbarara city worries area leaders.
The Chairperson LC 1 Nyamatojo village Jadurasi Mwesigye Kasoni says they have recorded an increase of domestic violence cases in this period of lockdown which is worrying.
Mrs. Mwesigye notes that nowadays she records a domestic violence case daily which was not the case before.
She attributed this to lockdown as many married couples stay together for long and this creates quarrels due to idleness.
She attributes this to alcoholism which she said men have resorted to taking alcohol all day long since they can go for work.
