The minister of state for Microfinance and Enterprise development Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune says, is impressed with the savings culture in Emyooga Saccos in Mbarara area for trying to meet standards.
Kasolo Kyeyune adds that these Emyooga Savings and credit cooperative societies would be doing better than today if the government through the ministry and Microfinance support center had trained the members.
He explained that the government didn’t get time to interface with the expected beneficiaries because of COVID-19 challenge but now since the economy is open and public free to interact in the near future all Saccos shall register success.
As the minister plans to meet Emyooga Sacco leaders in Mbarara district after meeting those in Mbarara city, the Commercial Officer Mbarara district Vincent Nuwagaba appeals to all those who benefited from Emyooga Sacco money to ensure effective recovery to get more from the government.
Nuwagaba warned that whoever fails to pay back as per the constitution of Sacco shall be forced using the enforcement arm of the government.
