President Museveni has asked Muslim leaders around the country to preach peace, unity and tranquility as the means for the country to attain transformation.

The president made his remarks in a message to all Muslims during the Ramadan period.

Museveni said The Holy Month of Ramadan is a time of prayer, retreat from all routine and a moment of complete submission to God as the supreme authority to bring about positive changes in our lives.

Museveni said that Uganda had gone through challenging moments during the pandemic but has overcome most of them through prayer.

The President also called upon the Islamic community to observe SOPs during their prayers noting that this would help allay any fears of a resurgence in the COVID-19 infections.
