A 30- year-old man in Rukungiri district is on the run over allegations of stabbing his grandfather to death.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, identifies the suspect as Jackson Kamwesigye alias boy while the deceased is 74-year-old Bernard Barugahare, a resident of Kanyankyende village in Bugangari Sub County in Rukungiri district.

The suspect reportedly attacked his grandfather and stabbed him for alleged failure to pay him his wages worth Shillings 15,000.

The suspect, according to Police, grabbed Barugahare outside the kitchen and stabbed him in the neck to death in the presence of his wife Edis Tugumisirize 73 and fled into hiding.

Tugumisirize raised an alarm prompting residents to rush to the deceased’s rescue.

Unfortunately, Barugahare had breathed his last by the time residents came to his rescue.
