A Congolese national has been charged and sent on remand at Kitalya prison for allegedly sodomizing a 6-year-old boy.
Bahati Dedye aged 22years, a gatekeeper, and resident of Kulambiro-Kigoowa zone in Kampala District as appeared before a grade one magistrate at City Hall Valerian Tuhimbise who did not allow him to say anything on aggravated defilement charge which is a capital offense in nature and only triable by the High court.
He sent him on remand until June 7th, when he will reappear to know the stage of investigations in the case.
Prosecution’s Viola Tusingwire insists that during the month of April and May 2021 at Kulambiro -Kigoowa 11 zone, Bahati performed a sexual act with a boy aged 6 years.
Meanwhile, Mbarara grade one magistrate court has sent back on remanded the two people suspected to have participated in the murder of Mbarara special driver.
The grade one magistrate Doreen Ainembabazi sent back to prison Simon Rutasingwa 35yrs and a UPDF solider Patrick Sonko 45yrs until 6th July 2021.
The prosecution contends that the two suspects conspired and killed James Ahimbisibwe on 6th April 2021 at Rwakiruli along Isingiro-Mbarara road.
It is said the suspects after killing Ahimbisibwe and robbed his car registration number UBF 684M which was found with them in Kampala.
The Presiding Magistrate Ainembabazi did not allow them to say anything as their charges are capital in nature and only triable by the High court.
According to Kedrace Kenjeya the mother of late Ahimbisibwe said that she expects justice for his son.
