President Museveni will on Saturday address the country about the next course of action after the elapse of the 42 lockdown aimed at curbing the rising cases of the deadly virus.

Presidential Press Secretary Linda Nabusayi said today morning that President Museveni will address the nation on Covid-19 and any other related issues.

In the last presidential address, President Museveni imposed a 42 days lockdown and it will elapse on Friday.

The National Planning Authority (NPA) recently said there will not be a third Coronavirus wave according to its weekly projections of the deadly virus.

The president is therefore expected to announce the easing of the lockdown and reopening of the economy which has been hit hard by the Covid-induced lockdown.

During the address, President Museveni is also expected to update the country’s efforts to ensure at least 80% of the targeted population is vaccinated in order to be safe.
