The Community Based Facilitators (CBF) in Kitagwenda district have received 14 bicycles and 2 motorcycles from Agriculture Cluster Development Project (ACDP) which will help them reduce transport while mobilising the groups of farmers in the community.
The 14 Community Based Facilitators received 14 bicycles while the 2 motorcycles were handed over to the two agricultural officers.
According to CBFs Laurence Tusiime and Tukamuhebwa Dinah, they have been facing challenges while traveling to meet farmers.
They said that since they have been given means of transport mobilisation will be easier for them.
Doreen Kaita who is the Kitagwenda district secretary for production urged these extension workers to take care of their bicycles and motorcycles and use them effectively.
Naboth Nkamubona the Kitagwenda district production Officer said that the project also plans to provide fertilizers, acaricides and irrigation systems in order to improve agriculture production in the district.
Meanwhile, Richard Ssebandeke the Chief Administrative officer said that the strategic objective of ACDP is to improve household income and urged them to work hard since they have received the means of transport.
