CONSERVING ENVIRONMENT; AT LEAST 500 TREES PLANTED IN MBARARA

In a bid to champion sustainable environmental conservation, at least 500 trees have been planted along River Rwizi banks.
In a campaign spearheaded by ABSA bank and Bishop Stuart University (BSU) targets to plant at least 1million trees in three years.
This was done on Monday 22nd April 2024 which was in line with celebration of world Earth day which highlights the purpose of saving the earth from environment degradation.
Albert Byaruhanga, the Director Business Banking at ABSA Bank revealed that they started the campaign last year where they planted at least 350000 trees and now they have planted 500 trees at BSU noting that the program is still ongoing.
Byarugaba who was speaking to press at the venue where the trees were planted said that as ABSA they set a target of 3 years to plant at least 1 Million trees, thus encouraging the public to embrace it the way to restore the Environment for future generations.

Gasom Atukunda, the Vice Chancellor BSU has thanked ABSA for the corporate Social Responsibility done within the community especially contributing to save River Rwizi and entire environment.
