Savings and Credit Co-operatives (SACCOs) have been applauded for championing financial inclusion and complementary in banking development.
This was sounded by DFCU bank Chief Executive Officer Charles Mudiwa who added that Saccos are part of the value chain in the ecosystem of financial inclusion in the economy.
Mudiwa was speaking in Mbarara at a dinner organized by DFCU bank as it celebrated its 60 years in Ugandan market.
He added that Saccos are helping in monetizing the economy from the grassroot especially at household level.

He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to transforming lives and businesses, especially the agriculture sector by transforming it from subsistence to commercial focusing on increasing agricultural exports.

Speaking to journalists, Prosper Guma the DFCU Mbarara branch manager acknowledged the competition brought about by village saving groups, saccos among other financial players.
