The prime minister of Uganda Rt.Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has advised people to grow vegetables in order to generate immediate income.
Nabbanja said this while presiding over belated International women’s for Sheema District held at Sheema main stadium in Kabwohe division, Sheema municipality.
She said since the people of sheema have inadequate land, they should now start to grow crops like onions, Cabbages, and other Vegetables which take little time to harvest and require less land.
At the same function, a total of about 40M was raised under Sheema Women development forum (SWODEF) to help in boosting women’s income generating projects.
Meanwhile, Rosemary Nyakikongoro, the Sheema woman Member of Parliament said the money that was raised is to help in empowering women projects in the District.
She says they will start mobilising women to start income generating activities at the parish level.
