Institutions of higher learning have been challenged to equip learners with innovative skills which will lower unemployment burden in the country.

Professor Peter Kanyandago the director Ibanda University Postgraduate school says that parents and learners always decry that of unemployment after schools which according to him, signifies that learning institutions are not doing enough.

Prof Kanyandago says innovative skills are very important as they are involved in all spheres of day to day living and technology.

He was speaking during a media engagement and briefing ahead of Ibanda University 5th Graduation ceremony slated for this Friday 29th April 2022.

According to the university Vice Chancellor Samson James Opolot, come August this year the university is opening the post graduate school as they have been given a green light by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

Meanwhile, Opolot said on the 5th graduation ceremony which is to be held at University grounds, 997 students will graduate in different disciplines and the Prime Minister Robinnah Nabanja is expected as the guest of honour.
