Following an abrupt National Consultations Meeting that was convened on Monday at Nsambya Sharing Hall by over 120 Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) district chairpersons, a plot to censure Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Nandala Mafabi has been reached.
A resolution was reached to call for an FDC national council meeting to kick out party president Amuriat and secretary general Mafabi.
Giving the conclusive remarks after over nine hours of consultations with the district chairpersons, FDC deputy president for Buganda region, Erias Lukwago said they unanimously resolved to censure the duo for what they called ‘causing mismanagement of the party’.
Lukwago said he never wanted to wash dirty linen in public, but that because they were at Najjanankumbi in an NEC meeting where they were almost lynched by unknown goons who were waiting for signals to attack.
FDC deputy treasurer-general fundraising Francis Mwijukye said there is no way they can accept state capture to destroy a party that was formulated out of blood and iron.
Mwijukye added that to build and grow the FDC, members need to be honest, transparent, and accountable which are the core guiding principles.
When Patrick Oboi Amuriat was contacted for a comment, he said they shall address many of the concerns today in a press conference.
However, it should be noted that besides the Amuriat and Nandala Mafabi’s press conference at FDC headquarters, the party founding leader Col Kiiza Besigye will be holding a parallel presser at his offices at katongo road.
