The president of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has described the fallen deputy Inspector of Police Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech as someone who had distinguished military career which many younger officers and men were eager to emulate but it was destroyed by President Museveni.
His remarks followed the death of Gen Lokech who passed on at the weekend at his home due to blood clot.
Kyagulanyi described Gen. Lokech as a gallant, courageous and fine soldier noting that a lot has been said about his bravery on the battle-field.
Kyagulanyi said it is a pity that Lokech had accepted to be used to curtail political freedom.
Kyagulanyi said President Museveni decided to deploy Gen. Paul Lokech to stop any attempt of the people of Uganda to rise up and reclaim their democratic rights after the January general elections.
Kyagulanyi questioned the manner of death of many prominent persons over the past years where he said to date; there are many deaths which have left more questions than answers saying Gen Lokech’s death is one of them.
