The In charge of Mwizi health centre three Fredrick Byanyima has been arrested over lack of accountability on the government property.

Byanyima was arrested on the orders of the Resident District commissioner (RDC).

His arrest followed monitoring of health facilities in Mwizi Subcounty by the RDC Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi following an internal auditor’s report of October in which it was found out that some of hospital equipment at Mwizi health centre three were not accounted for.

Kateera noted that the items which were uncounted for were 6 beds and 6 hospital mattresses all valued at 7.3 million.

According to Katera, the in charge failed to explain the whereabouts of these hospital materials when he was tasked.

The RDC says they were left with no option but to order the arrest so that he can be investigated.

Emmy also warned civil servants against personalizing government property which is in their custody.
