Journalists in Ankole sub region have been asked to continue sensitizing masses on covid19 vaccination as the virus is still around.

Dr Denis Wandera the head of covid19 vaccination at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital said that the challenge they had by then when the vaccination had just started there was few doses but now the vaccines are even at health centre three level but now the main challenge is information flow to the public.

This was sounded during Covid19 Vaccination Media Café organised by The Health Journalists Network in Uganda (HEJNU) held in Mbarara.

Dr Wandera says that on top of negative perception towards covid19 vaccines, people don’t know that vaccination is still going on.

In his communication, Fredrick Kamugisha the Mbarara district health Educator said that it should be everyone’s now to make sure we are all vaccinated against this virus.

Kamugisha said that Journalists should lead the cause since they have platforms noting that Covid19 is still dangerous especially to those with underlying conditions.

Anita Masika, the Health Journalists Network in Uganda (HEJNU) coordinator in Mbarara in her opening remarks, She called upon journalists to continue reporting covid19 related stories as it is one of the ways to increase awareness that the virus is still around.
