Mbarara city councilors have challenged Mbarara District Council move to allocate 1-acre piece of land to the ministry of Justice to construct a regional court of Appeal.
A motion that was raised by Byansi Muhammad a councilor representing Kakoba at Mbarara city council told the council that was chaired by speaker Bonny Tashobya Karusya that some Leaders within the district are hatching plans to grab the land in Kamukuzi in pretense of giving it to the ministry of justice.
He says that Mbarara city North Council had already approved the request from the ministry of Justice to provide a chunk of land measuring 1 acre in Kakiika to construct a court of Appeal.
Bonny Tashobya Karusya the speaker of Mbarara city directed the City Land Board not to issue a land title of the contested and investigate the matter.
He says that they gave the District a grace period as they shift the headquarters to Bwizibwera but they have used the chance to grab land.
