MECHANICS IN MBARARA WANT GOVERNMENT TO CONSIDER THEM AS ESSENTIAL WORKERS

Motor vehicle mechanics in Mbarara city have asked the government to consider them as essential workers.

Hatidu Kagoro a mechanic at Mbarara city motors Garage noted that their life is also at risk since they are the ones who repair ambulances, health workers vehicles among many others who could transmit coronavirus.

Kagoro now wants the government to consider them as essential workers such that they can benefit in the ongoing vaccination exercise.

He made the remarks while meeting the Members of Parliament on the Trade, Tourism & Industry committee led by Mbarara city south MP Mwine Mpaka to assess the impact of COVID-19 on the business community within Mbarara city at Lake View hotel yesterday.

Commenting on the matter, one of the committee members who is also the woman member of parliament Mbarara city Ritah Atukwasa Bwahiika said their issue is valid and needs agent attention.
