Bunyangabu police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 46-year- old man whose lifeless body was found lying next to a local alcohol distilling site.

The deceased has been identified as Johnson Nyakojo, a resident of Nyarugongo A in Kabonero Sub County in Bunyangabu district.

Sulait Musinguzi a resident of Nyarugongo says residents stumbled on the deceased’s lifeless body near the distilling site and they suspect that he may have died of excessive alcohol consumption since they found a bottle of crude liquor in his pocket.

Bunyangabu District Police Commander Nasib Ndita who confirmed the incident blames residents of indulging in excessive alcohol consumption sometimes on an empty stomach.

He also expressed concern about some people who are operating bars in disregard of their suspension.

Police have handed over the deceased’s body to Fort-portal Regional Referral Hospital for an autopsy.
