Mutebile-1-bdb01065

Parliament’s Appointments Committee will today vet Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile for another term as Governor of Bank of Uganda and Martin Okoth Ochola for another term as inspector General of Police (IGP).

Prof. Mutebile was in January re-appointed as the governor of Bank of Uganda for a fifth five-year term.

The 71-year-old is expected to appear before the parliament’s appointment’s committee for approval today.

Mutebile was first appointed governor in 2001.

The President also recently re-appointed Ochola as (IGP) for another three-year term, placing him at the helm of the country’s law and order agency until 2021.
