The Mbarara city UNATU chairperson Ben Patrick Twahiirwa has implored the government to recruit more teachers as schools plan to re-open.

Speaking to our reporter, Twahiirwa noted that some teachers are likely to abandon the profession after they joined other income generating activities during this period of the pandemic hence leaving gaps.

He noted that it’s now the time that the government re-thinks of filling the gaps that could be brought about by lockdown, death, Retirement, among others.
