SECURITY AGENCIES SPEAKS OUT ON UK TERROR ALERT

Admin
By Admin

The defence ministry has given the assurance that security agencies across the country were on high alert to avert any possible terror threat in Uganda targeting both local and foreign nationals.

Responding to the UK government’s warning in its foreign travel advice over the weekend that terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Uganda, defence spokesperson Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye said the Government of Uganda cares for the security of all those within its boundaries.

Kulayigye said terrorism is a threat across the world and the UK itself, US and France have been attacked before.

According to him, Uganda has not had any major terrorist attack and this was not because terrorists were kind to it, but it is because they had been deterred by security agencies.

While police spokesperson Fred Enanga also echoed the same message urging the public to remain calm and vigilant.

In its terror warning, the UK said the attacks could be indiscriminate or against foreign nationals or places frequented by foreign nationals.
