SEVEN ARRESTED IN KIRUHURA OVER LIVESTOCK THEFT

Police in Kiruhura District are holding seven suspects over charges of stealing livestock.

The suspects identified as Fred Nuwamanya 27 years old , Ssentongo Jamada 37yrs, Kanyesige Emmanuel 40yrs, Moses Ndyaguma 45yrs, Dan Bihabwayo 39yrs, Yorokamo Byamukama 44 years, Gerald Rwabugiri 50years all residents of Kinoni sub county Kiruhura District. 

It is alleged that on the night of 07/10/2023 at unknown time goats of one Nabimanya Frank were stolen from their shelter at Ekinoni cell, Kasana parish Kinoni subcounty Kiruhura District.

When the matter was reported at Kinoni Police Station, inquiries commenced leading to the arrest of the seven suspects and recovery of two goats.

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson says that the case file is being processed to be taken to the Resident State Attorney for perusal, legal guidance and possible sanctioning for the suspects to appear in court. 

Kasasira says that the inquiries are still ongoing into the matter
