STRAY LEOPARD TERRORIZES IBANDA MUNICIAPLITY

Residents of Kyabarende, Kyaruhimbi, Rwensinga, kanyinampeta villages in Bufunda division Ibanda municipality are living in fear following the invasion of a leopard and its cubs.

The leopard which is suspected to have come from Queen Elizabeth national park invaded the area about two weeks ago and has killed several animals leaving residents in fear.

Speaking during a meeting between UWA officials, Bufunda division leaders, Juliet Kyarisiima Muzinya the deputy speaker Bufunda division said the leopard has so far been wandering around which puts the lives of people and their livestock at risk.

Benon Keimutsya the LC3 Bufunda division commended UWA officials for rushing to trap the leopard before it claims the lives of residents.

Joseph Drake Mukiibi the RDC Ibanda asked residents to remain vigilant and report to authorities in case they identify the leopard.
