SUB COUNTY CHIEFS IN MBARARA RISK LOOSING THEIR JONBS OVER UNUTILISED FUNDS

Sub County Chiefs in Mbarara District are at the risk of being interdicted over unutilized government money.

The remarks were sounded by Kamugisha Herbert the Chairman Mbarara District Public Accounts Committee in a meeting with several Mbarara district Sub county Chiefs.

Kamugisha noted that Sub county Chiefs who have failed to utilize government money and those that don’t do requisition for money from government for different projects should be interdicted and their salaries withheld.

Meanwhile, Mbarara District Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has resolved to close Kakyeka Stadium following failure by the Mbarara City football club to settle a debt mounting to 6 million UGX.

According to Kamugisha, they have instructed the district Chief Finance Officer Julius Murangira to lock the stadium until the debt is settled.

He further instructed the Chief Administrative Officer Mbarara District to execute a new board that will be taking care of the stadium.

He called for the fencing of the stadium and also established the boundaries of the stadium.
