TWO PEOPLE DROWN WITH A STOLEN PIG IN MUKONO

Two people have drowned at Buleli landing site in Mpunge sub-county in Mukono district.

The deceased have been identified as Peter Badaaza and Abudallah Wayikyamayiso.  

They were ferrying a pig they had stolen last night to Gabba when they drowned.

Fredah Muwanga Namyalo, the Mpunge sub-county LC III Chairperson, says that the deceased had stolen a pig belonging to Okwalinga and tried to escape with it on a boat.

Sam Okwalinga, the owner of the pig says that he woke up on Monday morning only to find one of his pigs missing.

He promised not to release the bodies until the deceased’s relatives pay him a fine of at least Shillings 250, 000 as compensation for his pig.

Mukono District Police Commander- DPC Abubaker Musiho confirmed receiving a report about the incident.
