The number of Allied Democratic Forces- ADF rebels killed in Ntoroko District has risen to 17.

Addressing the media yesterday in Ntoroko District, the Commander Mountain Division who is also the Commander of Operation Shujja Maj Gen Dick Olumu revealed that by end of the day, the army had killed 17 rebels, captured 13, and recovered over 17 guns.

Olumu says that in the encounter, one civilian and a UPDF soldier were also killed.

According to Olumu, one of the commanders identified as Yakutu who led the rebels that attacked the villages was shot in the back but he managed to escape but another commander was killed while the third was captured.

However, Olumu says that the situation in Bweramule Sub County has normalized and has asked residents who fled from their homes to return.

The rebels attacked Bweramule Sub County on Tuesday forcing hundreds of residents to flee their homes and pitch camp at Karugutu Primary School.
