10 PEOPLE KILLED IN A PLANE CRASH IN SOUTH SUDAN

The authorities in South Sudan have confirmed that a small plane crashed last evening in the eastern Jonglei State killed all the 10 people on board.

The plane crashed at Pieri airstrip shortly after takeoff while heading to the capital, Juba.

According to Transport Minister Madut Biar Yel, a team of investigators are today to be sent to the site of the crash to conduct preliminary investigations.

The plane belonged to a local aviation company, the South Supreme Airlines and it has not yet issued a statement on the crash.
