Rwenzori Diocese Bishop Reuben Kisembo has observed that the situation that led to the killing of Archbishop Janani Luwum during the reign of President Idi Amin is creeping back to Uganda again.

He cited the rising cases of torture, murder and kidnaps as some of the signs that led to the situation that left the former archbishop dead.

Bishop Kisembo said they remember Archbishop Luwum because he was addressing political injustices that were happening in the country and the same are returning in the country.

Bishop Kisembo said this during the 44th commemoration of Archbishop Luwum at St John’s Cathedral yesterday.

His comments come at a time when the country is experiencing a wave of cases of missing people who are being allegedly abducted using mini buses commonly known as drones and taken to unknown places.

Bishop Kisembo asked President Museveni, who doubles as the commander in chief of the armed forces, to ask his security agencies to stop arbitrary arrests and torturing Ugandans.

During his address to the country on Saturday, President Museveni admitted that people who are said to be missing are in the hands of security organs.
