HIGH COURT IN MBARARA DISMISSES ELECTION PETITION CHALLENGING NRM PRIMARY ELECTIONS IN RWAMPARA DISTRICT

The high Court in Mbarara has today dismissed a petition in which Annah Kansiime was challenging the NRM electoral Commission and Molly Asiimwe after the former declared the latter as the Rwampara district woman MP NRM flag bearer.

The high Court presided over by the His worship Tadeo Asiimwe dismissed the petition saying that Kansiime wrongfully ran to the court when the disputes related to NRM primary elections were being handled by the NRM tribunal.

Annah Kansiime has petitioned the court saying that the September 4th election was marred by irregularities and NRM electoral commission wrongly declared her opponent Molly Asiimwe as the winner.

The case was dismissed with costs to the petitioner.

After the court Molly Asiimwe told reporters that the truth had finally come out calling upon Rwampara people from both camps to come on board to work together for the development of the new district.
