Police say they are overwhelmed by domestic violence incidents in various parts of the country.
Speaking at Naguru Police headquarters, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said the situation worsened during the recent festive season.
In one of the incidents, Police said they arrested Hussein SSempijja, 55, of Kyantale, Ndagwe, in Lwengo district over the murder by beating of his 10-year-old son, Ibrahim Katongole, whom he accused of stealing shillings 100,000 from his house.
In Lwengo, Police are investigating the circumstances under which a 13-year-old girl died shortly after her father questioned her about how she had got a body cream that she was found in possession of.
In Aswa East in Kitgum district, Charles Ewot, 83, of Ituke East village, in Lumule sub-county, had a conflict with his 64-year-old brother, Masimino Olok, over shillings 20,000, which he had received from his daughter.
Owot allegedly picked a hoe after failing to get a share and hit his brother on the right-hand side of the head which led to his death.
In Greater Bushenyi in Sheema district, Yusuf Niwayeesu, 40, of Kisiizi cell, handed himself over to Police after murdering his wife, Angella Tumukunzire, 28, with whom they had four children.
The suspect allegedly accused his wife of having extramarital affairs with other men.
In Kigezi region, 65-year-old Winnie Mugisha is in Police custody for having conspired with her son Onesmus Tumukunde, a 28-year-old secondary school teacher and killed Benon Mbabazi, 53.
