In an ongoing high-profile investigation, Uganda Police have recovered an additional fleet of luxury vehicles from the Nakasero residence of former Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, today.
The operation, executed by a joint task force comprising the Police Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and state anti-corruption agencies, began at dawn.
Sources close to the investigation reveal that at least four high-end vehicles, including a bulletproof SUV and a custom sports car, were towed from the premises under heavy security.
A Mercedes Benz with personalized number plate AAA 1 and a Lexus (UBP 704Y) have also been impounded by police.
This brings the total to six luxurious cars that have so far been impounded by police.
This latest raid follows a series of asset seizures linked to the embattled former legislative leader Among, who has been under intense scrutiny over allegations of illicit enrichment, abuse of office, and financial mismanagement during her tenure, faces mounting pressure as authorities systematically trace assets suspected to have been acquired through public funds.
Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke confirmed to journalists the morning operation, stating that the seizures are part of a broader effort to recover suspected proceeds of crime.
